Promo Studio by ChangeFluent

Turn a couple of sentences into a promo that goes live on your website, or an image you can post yourself. It takes about two minutes.

Five steps from brief to published No design skills needed Nothing invented that you did not say

Getting in

Promo Studio lives on your own website, at /promo. So if your site is yourbusiness.co.uk, go to yourbusiness.co.uk/promo and sign in with the account ChangeFluent set up for you.

Bookmark it

There is no separate app to install and nothing to download. It is a page on your site, so it works on a laptop, a tablet or a phone, wherever you happen to be.

Forgotten your password?

Use the “Lost your password?” link on the sign-in page. You will get an email with a link to set a new one. Nobody at ChangeFluent knows your password, so this is the fastest way back in.

You cannot break anything

Your account can make promos and nothing else. It cannot edit your pages, change your settings or delete anything. Click around freely.

Two kinds of promo

The first question Promo Studio asks is which one you are making. They follow the same five steps and end in different places.

Ends as a file

A social post

An image sized for wherever you are posting it. You download it and post it yourself, so nothing changes on your website.

An on-page promo

Appears on your website, in a spot ChangeFluent has already set up for you. You pick the spot from a list, and it goes live when you publish.

Making a promo, step by step

The bar across the top of every screen shows where you are. Steps you have finished are clickable, so you can jump back to fix something without losing your place.

Say what you are making

A social post, or an on-page promo. That is the only decision here, and it shapes the rest: pick a social post and you will be asked where you are posting it, pick an on-page promo and you will be asked which spot on your site it goes in.

If you change your mind later, click What in the bar at the top and start again from here.

The first step, asking whether you are making a social post or an on-page promo.
Step one. Two choices, and the progress bar showing the four steps to come.

Tell it what you want to say

Three things on this screen. What it is about narrows down where it can go. Where it should appear lists the spots on your site that suit it. And then the important box: a few sentences, in your own words, about what you are promoting.

You do not need to write it well. Write it like you would say it to a parent on the touchline, and Promo Studio will tidy it up.

The one rule worth knowing

Anything you want mentioned has to be in your brief. Dates, prices, ages, times, venues. Promo Studio will never invent them, because a promo that says “only £10” when you never said so is a promise your customers will hold you to.

So “half term camp, 27 to 31 October, ages 5 to 12, £30 a day” gives you far more than “camp coming soon”.

The brief step, showing the subject choices, the places it can appear, and the box for your own words.
Choosing a subject narrows the list of places underneath it, so you only ever see spots that make sense.
If a subject has nowhere to go

Some subjects may not have a spot on your website yet. Promo Studio will say so plainly and tell you to ask ChangeFluent. A social post about it still works: you just cannot publish it to a page that does not exist yet.

Pick the words, then change anything

Three options come back, deliberately different from one another rather than three versions of the same sentence. Pick whichever is closest.

The moment you pick one, its words drop into editable boxes below. Every single word is yours to change. The counters show how much room each part has, because the designs have real limits and it is better to know now than to find out when it looks squashed.

Three suggested versions of the copy, each with a headline, a sentence and a button label.
Three options. None of them is a draft you are stuck with.
Not quite right?

There is a box for exactly that. Say what to change, in plain words, and press Try again with this. Useful things to say: warmer, mention the ages, lead on the dates, shorter, less salesy.

That is different from Three different ones, which simply has another go without any steer from you. If you know what is wrong, say it: you will get there faster.

Choose how it looks

Pick a design, then press Show me to see it with your own words and your own brand colours in it. Flick between the designs and press Show me again as often as you like: previewing costs nothing.

You can add a photo from your computer or your phone. Drag it in or tap to choose one. Some designs use a photo and some do not, so the option only appears when it will actually be used.

The preview is the real thing, in your colours. What you approve here is exactly what your visitors get.
Which design when

Banner is bold and full width, best when the promo is the main event on that part of the page. Callout Card is quieter and sits nicely inside body text. One Line is a single line with no box at all, for a short status note that has to blend into an existing part of the page.

Finish

For a social post, this is where you make and download the image. Save it, then post it wherever you were going to.

For an on-page promo, you set where the button goes, optionally choose dates for it to start and stop, and press Publish. Leave the dates blank and it starts now and runs until you take it down.

One promo per spot

Each spot on your site holds one promo at a time. Publishing to a spot that already has something in it replaces what was there. That is deliberate: “the offer on the golf page” is one thing, not a pile of things.

Everything currently live is listed at the bottom of the dashboard, with a Take down button beside each one.

Worth knowing

Five things that will save you a puzzled five minutes.

Nothing is invented

Every price, date, age and time in your promo came from your brief. If it is not in what you wrote, it will not appear. Check it anyway before you publish: it is your name on it.

It may take a few minutes to show

Most websites keep a cached copy of each page to load faster. A newly published promo can take a little while to appear. Check in a private browser window before you worry.

Going back loses nothing

Click any finished step in the top bar to jump back to it. Your brief, your words and your choices are all still there when you return.

Previewing is free

Show me costs nothing and can be pressed as often as you like. Only publishing, or making a social image, produces anything final.

Taking something down is instant

Press Take down beside anything in the live list. It disappears from your site straight away, subject to the same short caching delay.

If something looks wrong

Work down this list. Most things are one of the first three.

I published it but I cannot see it on my site

Open the page in a private or incognito browser window. If it is there, your site is showing you a cached copy and it will catch up shortly.

If it is still missing after ten minutes, check the live list at the bottom of the dashboard to confirm it published, and check you chose the spot you meant. Then tell ChangeFluent.

The copy is not in our voice

Use the Not quite right? box and say so directly. “Warmer”, “less salesy”, “shorter”, “sound like a coach not a brochure” all work well.

If it is consistently off, tell ChangeFluent. There is a note about your voice held centrally that shapes every promo, and it can be adjusted for you.

The subject I want has no places listed

That means no spot on your website has been set up for it yet. It is a setup job, not a fault. Ask ChangeFluent and it can usually be added quickly.

In the meantime, a social post about that subject works normally.

It says something took too long

Press the button again. Writing your options involves a quick conversation with an AI service, and very occasionally it is slow. A second attempt almost always works.

My image will not upload

It needs to be a JPG, PNG, GIF or WebP, and under 5MB. Photos straight off a modern phone are sometimes larger than that: sharing it to yourself first, or screenshotting it, usually shrinks it enough.

I want to change a promo that is already live

Make a new one for the same spot and publish it. It replaces what is there. There is no separate edit, because starting again with the same brief takes under a minute and avoids a half-edited promo sitting live while you think.

Still stuck?

Tell us what you were doing and what you saw, and a screenshot if you have one. That is almost always enough for us to work it out without needing to get into your website.
